Our Story
It was love at first sight only if calling 911 on your future love is considered a love gesture. See, what happened was ... Stasia's plumber was over booked and sent Vince in his place without Stasia's knowledge to work on the fixer upper that will be our future home and location of our nuptials. Stasia rolled up to find a a big red truck she's never seen parked in front of an open garage. With 911 on the ready, she ventured in. You can imagine her waiting to exhale moment when Vince walked out, pipe wrench in hand and superman cape in tow.
First Date
Our first date was the Falcons/NOLA football game. This classic rivalry was just a prelude to the discovery of our own rivalry.
A House Divided (sorta)...
Vince is a lifelong Cowboy's fan (America's team!), SEC enthusiast and backer of the South Cackalaka Gamecocks and Clemson Tigers. Stasia is a Redskins fan (Hail Victory!), rehabilitated ACC enthusiast and backer the Maryland Terrapins (Fear the Turtle!). On paper, we're arch enemies! Clearly, however, God has a plan for us.
Jerry's house
And that plan includes BBQ. Early on, we started our Thanksgiving pilgrimage to Dallas. What's not to love about melt in your mouth brisket, Texas margaritas and Jerry's house. It doesn't get any better. Unless of course your team wins. Dallas of course claimed the bragging rights for the 2016-17 season.
Weekend Warriors
Our ties run deeper than football. From home improvements, to working in the garden to fixing cars, we share a love of restoring the old to new. Any given day, you'll find Stasia helping Vince drop an engine into Vince's beloved F150 affectionately dubbed Big Red or Vince at Stasia's side hanging drywall and laying wood floors. Other days, we're at a local watering hole talking smack about our teams. That's just how we roll.
A House United
A House Expanding
Sunset at Monuments Beach in Cabo San Lucas provided the perfect back drop for our anniversary photos. A beautiful backdrop with surfers and Arco de Cabo in the background. There was also a wedding at the hotel that overlooks the beach and others taking their wedding pictures. Photos by Hilo Rojo Photography. Below are some of the highlights of our week at the beach. We stayed at Villa Elegante in Santa Carmela. With the pandemic waning away, it was nice to have the house and pool to ourselves. Chef Otoneil Tercero from Eat Cabo kept us well fed while we lounged around the pool. We also did a day trip to the downtown area and a boat ride out to the Arco de Cabo. We had a driver for the day via Danys Cabo who also took us to a glass blowing factory, various local merchants to buy tchotchkes and lunch at a downtown bar. Our anniversary dinner was at El Toro, which is in a beautiful setting that takes advantage of the desert landscape. It was an awesome way to celebrate 5 years and thriving during the pandemic! We’re super excited to create more memories.
